Perrone Robotics is a small and dynamic company based in Stockholm, Sweden.
After having spent half a decade in the European Research Area in countries such as Sweden, Italy,
Portugal and France, in the position of research engineer, the founder, Matteo Perrone, decided, in the autumn 2002, to create an enterprise capable to meet the growing interest of scientific research for the underwater
world. Capitalizing on his past experience in computer vision, underwater robotics,
and working side by side with academic researchers, Perrone founded his company in Nacka, an area located on the Eastern side of the city of Stockholm facing the Baltic Sea in the heart of Scandinavia.
The company has two main objectives: the first is to provide research institutions with an
adaptable tool for underwater experimentation, and the second is to perform technology transfer between
the academic research and the underwater intervention world.
The company disposes of a solid international network capable of providing both hi-technology materials used for
manufacturing its robots and systems, and cutting-edge software and algorithms for the control systems and the
on-board intelligence of its machines. This is even enhanced by the recent admission of Perrone Robotics in the European Robotics Research Network: an extremely valuable membership with great opportunities for sharing knowledge and expanding the company network.
Former colleagues from Perrone's previous work
experiences such as hard-real-time specialists and operating system and hardware designers as well as brilliant
researcher from some of the most blazoned research institutions in Europe are among the list of his
collaborators. The company business strategy is not only to produce and sell underwater robots, but mainly to
provide a continuative service to research institutions and underwater intervention companies in order to allow
them to pursuit their final goal.
The robots used will be adapted case by case following the evolution of
the research project or the specific underwater intervention Perrone Robotics will assist.
